Mt. Greylock Parkway Rehabilitation
Contractor Oversight & Coordination
The Mt. Greylock Parkway leads visitors to the summit of the Commonwealth's tallest mountain. The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation launched a two year project to reconstruct and widen 13.8 miles of the road system. Hill's tasks were to monitor contractors to ensure conformance to plans and specifications, evaluate materials for contract compliance, and certify the quality of workmanship. One of the challenges of the project was to maintain coordination between the resident engineer, construction project manager, foreman, and as many as eight construction crews working over the 13.8 mile stretch of road.
