Berkshire Medical Center Kitchen
Kitchen Exhaust Upgrade
The kitchen exhaust systems at both the Berkshire Medical Center main campus, and the Hillcrest campus needed to be upgraded to conform to local and state mechanical codes. To meet the stringent code requirements, the design included explosion proof fans, welded steel ductwork and fire-rated shafts up through the existing multistory buildings to the fan rooms located on the roofs. There was minimal intrusion on the operation of each facility. When the project was complete, both facilities had kitchens operating in full compliance with all state building codes for commercial kitchens.
