Lee Congregational Church Steeple
Structural Consulting
Hill-Engineers, Architects, Planners was hired by the Lee First Congregational Church to assist in the stabilization of the historic 151 year old steeple. This structure is the tallest wooden post-and-beam steeple in New England. It has suffered extensive structural and cosmetic damage from a leaking roof and weather exposure. Hill's analysis of the structure determined that the upper half of the steeple would have to be removed and replaced, rather than repaired in place due to the extent of the damage. In addition to being the structural consultant, Hill drafted reports and letters that assisted in acquiring funds to complete the project.
