Vernon Power Plant
Turbine Component Alignment

The four existing turbines at the Vernon Power Plant on the Connecticut River had been out of service for 15 years and the current owners invested $55 million to replace them. Once assembled, the turbines are 15' wide and 60' tall. Components were shipped from all over the world, some weighing 32 tons, requiring installation tolerances as tight as .005". The task required engineering design, ingenuity and experience, all in a challenging environment.
