GE Energy
Proposed Office Building Renovations
GE Energy had an increase in need for office personnel due to the high demand for alternative energy systems. Building 2 was originally constructed in 1902 and was always utilized as an office building. The antiquated nature of the building and demand for a modern facility warrants a complete rehabilitation of the building to a state-of-the-art office facility.

Hill was commissioned to provide complete architectural and engineering services, from a feasibility study through commissioning of the building for LEED certification. The building is eight stories, and totals 208,000 square feet of space. The design includes 700 offices in both private and open landscape, as well as support facilities such conference centers, computer rooms, kitchenettes, and document centers. A new accessible entrance vestibule and exterior gathering area was a key component to the site design. Estimated project cost is $45 million.
