National Grid
Warehouse Distribution Center
After a gravel processing business ceased operation, Hill was hired to review the site for its potential as a new regional storage facility for National Grid. The design objectives were to meet federal, state and town permit requirements, minimize earthwork, preserve open space and wetlands, protect the aquifer, manage storm water, and provide traffic, site and storage yard visibility and efficiency. Hill designed the road, buildings and storage area to meet the client's requirements for transportation, storage and site security in an environmentally sensitive manner. The new facility now services three adjoining states and has increased company reliability and client service. In addition, the facility provides permanent open space and addresses all environmental and aesthetic concerns.
